Description (English): Bamidbar (“In The Desert”) is the first Torah portion in the book of Numbers. It describes God's command to take a census and details the camping formation of the people of Israel in the desert. It also begins to enumerate the responsibilities of the Levites when transporting the Tabernacle.

Description (Hebrew): בפרשת במדבר מתואר מפקד בני ישראל וסידור המחנה לפי שבטים מסביב למשכן. שבט לוי ממונה על נשיאת המשכן וכליו במהלך המסע במדבר, ולכל משפחה משלוש המשפחות בשבט - גרשון, קהת, ומררי - יש תפקיד מסוים.
